EJU - Examination for Japanese University
EJU was introduced in 2002 to replace the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and the General Examination for Foreign Students (GEFS).
Some universities in Japan have a system which grants admission before the student’s arrival in Japan by using the EJU examination results and high school scores to determine eligibility (“Pre-arrival Admission System"). By using this system, students can confirm their admission to Japanese institutions of higher education before arriving in Japan.
JASSO offers Reservation Program For Honors Scholarship For Privately Financed International Students to privately financed international students who achieve outstanding results in EJU Examination administered by JASSO, and who are to enroll in universities, junior colleges and the postsecondary courses in professional training colleges.
